I’ll confess that I’ve never read a Stephen King novel in its entirety. However, a group of us are currently reading and discussing his "Memoir of the Craft," On Writing, and we came across this gem in the Foreword:
One rule of the road not directly stated elsewhere in this book: "The editor is always right." The corollary is that no writer will take all of this or her editor’s advice; for all have sinned and fallen short of editorial perfection. Put another way, to write is human, to edit is divine…
I'm thinking this King fellow may be all right.

I am an editor. Thus, I greatly appreciate King's comment! I enjoyed On Writing, though I too confess I have not read any other King books. (Horror is not my cup of tea!) In keeping with my editing, I must point out that, in your post, the word "fallen" has a typo! {Smiles!}
Fixed--thanks for the heads up!
I learned a lot reading that book. I do not care for horror but I have read most of Kings books [during the day]
